EA may have cut down on developers and staff recently, but a recent job advertisement reveals they are still hiring. Although the game is yet to be officially announced, EA are looking for a Senior Online Level Designer for the anticipated sequel to Dead Space.
The advertisement states they require someone who is "able to work collaboratively with Creative Director and Online Producer to create extremely fun, satisfying and polished multiplayer levels." The ad also says: "The previous instalment in the Dead Space franchise received numerous awards for game-play, visuals, and sound design, and the same core team is in place to create an even better follow up."
So what does that tell you? There will be a Dead Space 2 and it will contain online multiplayer. This is great news, as recent job cuts suggest there will be no follow up to Mirror's Edge, Dead Space could have easily gone the same way.
To whet our appetites more, the ad mentions: "The game is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months, with many of the navigational and combat mechanics in place." A sequel to Dead Space is just what the Survival Horror gaming thumbs have ordered and I for one can't wait.
